Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) – a collection of agencies created to address the various needs of families and dependents throughout the state
• The Division of Protection and Permanency provides consultative services and technical assistance to Cabinet service regions regarding issues of child protection, guardianship and permanency for children
• The division also provides consultative services and technical assistance to the service regions regarding issues of child and adult protection and permanency for children.
• The division consists of branches that focus on a particular area of service, these include:

- Out of Home Care Branch
- Adoption Services Branch
In addition, the division creates and monitors standards of practice and reviews legislation and regulations. The division also gathers data and creates reports to meet state and federal requirements and to track and monitor the Cabinet's progress on the goals of safety, permanency and well-being.

Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky (PCVKY) – a group that advocates that, by valuing children, supporting and educating families, and engaging communities, they will strive to create a comprehensive prevention program and to increase public awareness so that Kentucky’s children are free from harm and abuse. Their goals include informing the citizens of the Commonwealth as to the prevalence of child abuse and neglect and how to get involved in prevention efforts, establishing child abuse and neglect prevention as a public policy priority, developing and promoting effective prevention strategies and programs, and developing an infrastructure capable of supporting the premier child abuse prevention voice in the state.
